Detailed 2 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari Itinerary

Day 1: A trip to Volcanoes NP with Kigali city tour

Before you set off on a 2-3 hours’ drive to Volcanoes National Park in a 4×4 drive vehicle, you will visit some important historical sites and local markets within Kigali capital city – this is expected to take about 2 hours.

After city tour in different parts of Kigali – one of the world’s cleanest and safest cities, proceed to Volcanoes National Park which is situated in Ruhengeri.

En-route to the countryside to visit Volcanoes NP, enjoy the breathtaking view of rolling hills.

At the park, settle for relaxation, dinner at leisure and overnight stay, then by tomorrow be fit enough to engage in a long day gorilla trekking experience.

Day 2: Guided Rwanda gorilla trekking & departure

Go visit the massive mountain gorillas in their natural environment with Volcanoes National Park guide starting at 8:00am after briefing on rules and regulations for gorilla trekking.

Leave the gorilla accommodation in Rwanda with packed lunch and enough drinking water with right attire especially long-sleeved shirts, trousers, waterproof hiking boots and with camera at hand ready for photography.

Enjoy up to 6 hours of navigating via the bamboo forest and settle for one hour to have a close interaction with mountain gorillas when you have finally met them in the wild.

After striking your imagination, the park guide will lead you again back to the accommodation or briefing to meet your driver guide.
