Detailed Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Serengeti Wildlife Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park from Kigali
Head to Volcanoes national park which is Rwanda’s only home for the endangered mountain gorillas after a pick up from Kigali international airport.
You will take about 4 to 5 hours and pass through the beautiful scenery and you take memorable photos, until you reach the lodge where you will be staying for a few days.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and community tour
Be ready to spot world’s most endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitats and this will begin with briefing where you will be told about the dos and don’ts to follow while carrying out this great experience in Africa.
Proceed to the jungle with help of a park ranger guide and fellow trekkers.
This experience can even last for over 5 hours and this will depend on the movements of a gorilla group and the speed of trekkers.
Volcanoes NP is misty, almost impenetrable, foggy and slippery and this is common in the wet season.
Spend an hour while in the presence of the gorillas as you enjoy the best of gorilla trekking experience.
The rest of your afternoon after lunch will be spent in a local community where you will enjoy the best of cultural experience.
Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali via the twin lakes, fly to Arusha – Tanzania and drive to Karatu
Transfer to Kigali International Airport, passing via the twin lakes of Ruhondo and Burera for incredible scenery views and photography.
In case you have time, enjoy a short canoe ride to learn about their uniqueness, geographical, historical formation and traditional stories.
Proceed and arrive in Kigali city where you will transfer to the airport for an outbound flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
From here, you will be picked and transferred to Karatu.
Day 4 and 5: Explore the plains of Serengeti National Park
During these two days of full exploration in the plains of Serengeti national park, enjoy rewarding game drives which will be spent all day long.
There are different aspects and moments that won’t be missed like picnic lunches, bush breakfast, sunrise and sunset views.
There is more to explore and among others include the wildlife and beautiful scenery covered with endless plains.
There are different wild animals that will be spotted including buffaloes, antelopes, giraffes, lions, warthogs, olive baboons and leopards.
Day 6: Transfer to Arusha
Take part in the morning breakfast and then go for sunrise game drive to explore more of the wildlife including wildebeests, lions, elephants, leopards, giraffes and many others.
Thereafter, proceed to Arusha and to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your scheduled flight.
