Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Depart from Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Meet your safari driver-guide for a short briefing about your upcoming adventure. Begin your journey from Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s most popular wildlife destination.

The reserve is famous for hosting millions of wildebeests and thousands of zebras during the migration season. On arrival, check in at your lodge, enjoy dinner, and rest for the night.

Day 2: Game Drives and Visit the Masai Community

Start your day with a morning game drive across the Mara plains, which are home to elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, hippos, and more. You may also spot birds such as the Tara River cisticola, Aberdare cisticola, Hinde’s pied-babbler, William’s lark, and Sharpe’s pipit.

In the evening, visit a Masai village to learn about the traditional lifestyle of the Masai people. See their homesteads known as Manyattas, watch their dances, enjoy local songs, and try traditional dishes. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Head to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania

After breakfast, drive from Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park via the Namanga border post. The drive takes about five hours, including time for border clearance and visa checks.

Your driver-guide will assist you with all the necessary travel documents. Upon arrival in Serengeti, check in at your lodge and relax as you enjoy the evening views of the wilderness. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Full-Day Savannah Game Drive

Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti National Park on exciting game drives. The park is filled with wildlife, including wildebeests, zebras, elephants, lions, giraffes, crocodiles, hippos, impalas, bushbucks, baboons, and monkeys.

Enjoy your lunch in the park and continue your exploration throughout the day. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Depart to Arusha and Fly Home

After breakfast, drive from Serengeti to Arusha, where you will be dropped off at the airport for your flight back home. This marks the end of your Masai Mara & Serengeti Safari.
