Drive through Ruhengeri in Musanze Province and continue to the Cyanika border post in Kisoro District. Along the way, you will enjoy beautiful views of the volcanoes and Lake Mutanda, with several opportunities to stop for photos.

After clearing immigration at the border, continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Depending on your choice, you may track gorillas in the Nkuringo or Rushaga sectors, which are closest to the border. Other options include the Ruhija and Buhoma sectors, which also provide excellent gorilla trekking experiences.

Upon arrival, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Return to Kigali

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a short briefing by the Uganda Wildlife Authority guides. They will explain the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking before leading you into the forest.

As you walk through the forest, enjoy the songs of birds and the cool air of the jungle. When you finally find the gorillas, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them as they play, feed, and interact.

After the experience, return to meet your driver-guide and begin your journey back to Kigali through the Katuna or Cyanika border. You can either spend the night in Kigali or head directly to the airport for your flight.
