Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe, City Tour, and Hotel Transfer
Your 4 Days Murchison Falls Safari Tour begins with a warm welcome at Entebbe International Airport. Meet our company representative and driver-guide, who will brief you about the trip before transferring you to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala.
Depending on your arrival time, you may take a short city tour. In Entebbe, you can visit the Botanical Gardens, while in Kampala, you can explore some city highlights before heading to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park with Rhino Tracking En Route
After breakfast, set off on a scenic drive heading northwest toward Murchison Falls National Park. The journey from Kampala takes about five hours. Along the way, you will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track white rhinos on foot.
Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary was established to reintroduce rhinos to Uganda after their extinction in 1986. The sanctuary started with only four rhinos donated from Disney World, and the population has continued to grow successfully. Spend about an hour tracking these impressive animals before continuing the journey.
Have lunch at Kabalega Dinners or in Masindi town, then proceed to the park. Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight, marking the end of your first day on the 4 Days Murchison Falls Safari Tour.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive, Afternoon Nile Boat Cruise, and Hike to the Falls
Wake up early for breakfast and set off for a morning game drive in the savannah plains of Murchison Falls National Park. This is the best time to spot lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, antelopes, and many other animals. Enjoy the sunrise and watch hippos at their pool before returning to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on the Nile River to the base of the falls. During the cruise, you will see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and water birds along the riverbanks. Look out for the shoebill stork on the cliffs. The cruise ends at Baker’s Rock, which offers a great view of the mighty Murchison Falls, perfect for photos.
After the cruise, return to your lodge through the woodland area of the park for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Visit the Top of the Falls and Drive Back to Kampala or Entebbe (Optional Chimpanzee Trekking)
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and visit the top of Murchison Falls if you did not do so earlier. Here, you will see the Nile River force its way through a narrow gap before dropping into the gorge below, a truly memorable sight.
Take photos, enjoy the view, and then begin your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. You will stop in Masindi for lunch before continuing to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
