Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

Begin your safari in Arusha, where you will meet your driver-guide for a briefing about the tour. Drive to Lake Manyara National Park, known for its tree-climbing lions and scenic views.

If you arrive early, go for an evening game drive to spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, gazelles, baboons, hyenas, and many more animals.

Day 2: Head to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, enjoy a short morning game drive to catch any animals you may have missed before continuing to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This region is famous for its crater lakes, open grasslands, and rich wildlife.

Look out for the Big Five — lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, and buffaloes — along with birds such as flamingos, bee-eaters, and kites. Later, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Drive to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, head to Serengeti National Park, one of the best places in the world for wildlife viewing. On the way, enjoy beautiful views and spot animals along the road.

Serengeti is home to the Great Wildebeest Migration, one of the natural wonders of the world. On arrival, check into your lodge and relax before your full-day game drive the next day.

Day 4: Full Day Game Drive

Spend the whole day exploring the vast plains of Serengeti National Park. Carry a packed lunch for a picnic in the wilderness.

You will see many animals, including rhinos, elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, and crocodiles. Don’t forget your binoculars and camera to capture the moments.

Day 5: Transfer to Masai Mara in Kenya

After breakfast, drive from Tanzania to Kenya, crossing into Masai Mara National Reserve. The Mara is part of the same ecosystem as Serengeti and hosts the same wildlife species, including the wildebeest migration.

Arrive in the evening and check in at your lodge for rest and dinner.

Day 6: Full Day Mara Adventure Safari

Enjoy a full day of game drives in Masai Mara National Reserve. Explore the open plains, the Mara River, and enjoy watching crocodiles hunting wildebeests during the migration season.

You will also see elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, impalas, topis, elands, baboons, and warthogs. Have a picnic lunch and enjoy the peaceful savannah landscape before returning to your lodge.

Day 7: Fly to Uganda

After an early morning game drive, transfer to Nairobi Airport for your flight to Entebbe International Airport in Uganda. Upon arrival, meet your Ugandan guide and transfer to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi National Park

After breakfast, begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

The drive takes about eight to nine hours but includes interesting stopovers, such as the Uganda Equator, where you can take photos and enjoy a short demonstration before continuing to Bwindi.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking Adventure

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking. You will learn about the trekking rules and safety tips before joining your ranger guide for the hike.

As you trek through the forest, look out for birds, primates, and unique plants. Once you find a gorilla family, you will spend one hour observing their behavior — watching them feed, play, and care for their young.

You will see how closely related gorillas are to humans in their actions and emotions. After the trek, return to your lodge for relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 10: Head Back to Entebbe and Fly Home

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Entebbe International Airport. You will have lunch en route and stop again at the equator before your drop-off in Entebbe or Kampala, marking the end of your Gorillas & Wildebeest Migration Safari.
