Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After pickup from your agreed location in Kigali, begin your journey to Volcanoes National Park. The drive takes about 3 to 4 hours through Rwanda’s countryside with hills, farms, and green vegetation.
Volcanoes National Park is one of the best places in Africa to see gorillas and learn about the conservation work started by Dian Fossey. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Adventure in Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, your driver will take you to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking in Rwanda. During the session, you will learn about trekking rules, safety, and how to hire porters if needed.
With your assigned ranger guide, begin the trek through the forest in search of the gorilla family. Once found, spend one hour observing them as they feed, play, and interact. The activity usually lasts 3 to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located.
