Detailed 3 Days Tsavo West National Park Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Tsavo West National Park
You will be picked up from your hotel or the airport in Nairobi and start your journey to Tsavo West National Park, about 6 hours away via the Mombasa Road.
On arrival, check in at your lodge and enjoy a delicious lunch at around 2:00 p.m. Spend your afternoon relaxing and enjoying views of distant mountains, dry plains, and open savanna from your lodge. Dinner will be served around 6:00 p.m., followed by an overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning and Evening Game Drives
After breakfast, head out for a morning game drive around the Chaimu Crater area. You will have a chance to see Tsavo’s lions, famously known as the “man-eaters of Tsavo,” along with elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and other wildlife.
Return to the lodge for lunch at around 1:00 p.m. In the afternoon, go for another game drive through Taita Hills, exploring more of the park’s landscapes and wildlife. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Guided Nature Walk and Transfer to Nairobi
After breakfast, set out for a guided nature walk through the savanna and woodland areas of Tsavo West National Park. The walk allows you to experience the park’s natural beauty up close and learn about its plants, animals, and ecosystems.
