Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Masai Mara National Park
Your safari begins with a pickup from your hotel in Nairobi by a professional driver-guide in a 4×4 safari vehicle. Drive to Masai Mara National Park, a journey of about five and a half hours.
Arrive in time for lunch and some rest at your lodge. At around 3:00 PM, head out for an evening game drive through the Olasura Gate and Siana Conservancy. Return to your lodge by 6:00 PM for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Game Drives All Through
Enjoy breakfast at 6:00 AM and begin an early-morning game drive across the Ngama Hills and Olmisingyoi areas. You will have a chance to see a variety of animals, including the Big Five.
Lunch will be served at around 1:00 PM near the Serena Airstrip. After lunch, continue with another game drive at 3:00 PM through the Mara Triangle before proceeding to Kichwa for dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 3: Fly to Samburu National Park
Have breakfast at 7:00 AM, then check out and drive to the airstrip for your flight to Samburu National Park, which takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Arrive mid-morning and check into your lodge for relaxation before lunch.
After lunch, enjoy an evening game drive in Samburu National Park, exploring its beautiful Savannah landscapes and spotting animals such as elephants, giraffes, and lions. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Bird-watching and Camelback Safari
After breakfast at 8:00 AM, go for an exciting camelback ride through the Samburu wilderness. This activity offers a peaceful way to explore the landscape and observe wildlife.
Return to the lodge for lunch at 1:00 PM and later set out for an afternoon bird-watching experience. Samburu is home to unique bird species including the African paradise flycatcher, African openbill, African darter, cinnamon breasted bunting, and secretary bird. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Game Drive and Transfer Back to Nairobi
Breakfast will be served at 6:00 AM, followed by a morning game drive in Samburu National Park. This early-morning drive gives you a good chance to see predators like lions, hyenas, and leopards hunting.
The drive ends around 9:00 AM, after which you will check out of your lodge and begin the journey back to Nairobi. The drive takes about four and a half hours, marking the end of your Masai Mara and Samburu Park Safari.
