Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Kilimanjaro
Upon arrival in Kilimanjaro, your guide will meet you and drive you to your lodge for check-in. Enjoy views of the mountain while you settle in. A delicious lunch will be served in the afternoon, followed by a short walk around the lodge to admire the mountain scenery and observe birds that live in the area.
In the evening, return to the lodge to relax. Prepare your hiking gear for the next day’s climb. Dinner will be served as the sun sets, and you will rest overnight.
Day 2: Rongai Camp One
After an early breakfast, begin your hike up Mount Kilimanjaro. The day’s goal is to reach Rongai Camp One. Enjoy the hike through the mountain vegetation and look out for wildlife such as aardvarks and different bird species.
Lunch will be served along the way. The camp sits at about 2,600 meters above sea level. On arrival, relax and enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere. Dinner will be served in the evening before you rest overnight.
Day 3: Kikelelwa Camp
Wake up to a warm breakfast at sunrise before continuing your climb to a higher point on the mountain. The hike will take you through scenic slopes covered with mountain vegetation.
Lunch will be served at a rest point before you continue to Kikelelwa Camp, located at 3,660 meters above sea level. Upon arrival, take time to relax, enjoy dinner, and rest overnight in preparation for the next day’s hike.
Day 4: Mawenzi Turn Hut
After an early breakfast, start your hike towards Mawenzi Turn Hut. The trail takes you through rocky areas where you may see rare birds such as the great blue turaco, hammerkop, and cinnamon-breasted species.
Lunch will be served along the way before reaching Mawenzi Turn Hut, which sits at 4,330 meters above sea level. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.
Day 5: Kibo Huts
Enjoy breakfast at the camp before beginning your hike to Kibo Huts, located at 4,750 meters above sea level. Arrive in the afternoon and relax as you enjoy the calm surroundings and cool mountain air.
After lunch, take a short sightseeing walk to admire the views that stretch as far as Serengeti National Park and other distant landscapes. Dinner and overnight stay at Kibo Huts.
Day 6: Summit Walk
After a warm meal, start the exciting climb to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. The goal is to reach Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters above sea level.
Celebrate your achievement at the top with songs, dancing, and photos to remember this incredible experience. Later, descend to Horombo Huts for relaxation. Enjoy the peaceful setting and the views of the plains below. Dinner and overnight stay at the huts.
Day 7: Horombo Huts – Down to Marangu Gate (Overnight Stay in Arusha)
After breakfast, descend to Marangu Gate where your hike officially ends. Have lunch and meet your driver for the journey to Arusha, which takes about two and a half hours.
Check in at your lodge and relax for the rest of the afternoon. You can take an optional evening walk around Arusha before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Depart for Zanzibar
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, drive to your beach hotel and spend the day relaxing by the ocean. Watch the sunset and enjoy the gentle sound of the waves. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 9: Guided Trip in Stone Town
After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Stone Town, Zanzibar’s historic center known for its lively markets and narrow streets. Visit local markets, meet the friendly vendors, and learn about daily life on the island.
You will also have time to shop for souvenirs before heading to a restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the House of Wonders Museum to learn more about Zanzibar’s rich history. Return to your hotel in the evening for dinner and rest.
Day 10: Spice Farm and Jozani Forest Trip
After breakfast, visit Zanzibar’s spice plantations, where you will see and learn about different spices grown on the island. Enjoy photography and the beautiful scenery around the farms.
