Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Depart Arusha City for Lake Natron
On arrival in Arusha, our company representative will meet you at the airport. After a short briefing about your trip, enjoy breakfast in town before starting the journey to northern Tanzania.
The drive takes about 5 to 6 hours, depending on the route and weather conditions. Along the way, you will pass small lakes, hills, and streams while spotting lesser flamingos, algae, and fish. Enjoy views of the countryside, busy towns, and lush plantations. The Great Rift Valley and nearby hills will welcome you to the Lake Natron area by evening.
You will have lunch en route with stopovers as advised by your driver guide. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge, relax, and spend the evening at leisure until dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Nature Walk and Sightseeing
Start your day with a delicious breakfast at the lodge. You will then go for a guided nature walk along the lake shore, where your guide will share information about the lake and its unique features.
Enjoy the beautiful views of the landscape and watch the long-legged lesser flamingos that breed here. You will spend time learning about the lake’s ecosystem and taking photos of the beautiful scenery.
In the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Lake Natron is highly alkaline, so swimming and drinking the water are not advised. Most visitors prefer to explore and take photographs around the lake instead.
Day 3: Hike Ngare Sero Waterfalls and Departure
After breakfast at the lodge, depending on your flight schedule, you will go for a half-day hike to the Ngare Sero Waterfalls. The trail runs along the western side of Lake Natron, passing narrow gorges, wild palms, and the refreshing waterfall.
After the hike, enjoy lunch and then begin your drive back to Arusha for your flight to the next destination. Your guide will bid you farewell, marking the end of your safari. End of Safari.
