Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Saadani National Park
Your driver guide will pick you up and drive you to Saadani National Park, Tanzania’s only coastal park. It is one of the few places where you can see wildlife roaming along the beach.
You will arrive at your lodge in the afternoon, check in, and enjoy lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Look out for elephants, hartebeests, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, baboons, leopards, and lions.
After the game drive, return to your lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Safari on Wami River
Start your day with an early morning game drive as the sun rises. Morning hours are the best time to see wildlife when animals are most active. Expect to see giraffes, sable antelopes, elands, kudus, zebras, black and white colobus monkeys, spotted hyenas, and jackals.
In the afternoon, go for a relaxing boat trip on the famous Wami River, which flows through the southern part of Saadani National Park. Look out for crocodiles, hippos, and monitor lizards, as well as many water birds such as pelicans, flamingos, kingfishers, herons, and waders.
Return to your lodge or camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Guided Walking Safari and End of Safari
After breakfast, take a guided walking safari to explore the wilderness and coastal parts of the park. Enjoy the sounds of nature, spot monkeys, and experience the park up close.
Return to your lodge to pack up, then head out for one last short game drive before departing from Saadani National Park. You will then drive back to Dar es Salaam, marking the end of your safari.
