Day 1: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and drive you to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, one of Tanzania’s most popular wildlife destinations.

In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive across the plains outside the crater, exploring the Ndutu plains and the areas around the Gol Mountains. Later, check in at your safari lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater Drive and Transfer to Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s natural wonders. This unbroken caldera is home to around 30,000 animals, including the famous Big Five.

During the game drive, look out for hippos, black rhinos, elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, wildebeests, zebras, warthogs, impalas, and over 300 species of birds.

Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool before ascending to the crater rim. Continue your journey to Serengeti National Park, where you will arrive in the evening and check in at your lodge.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park

Spend the full day exploring Serengeti National Park, the most famous park in Tanzania and home to the annual Great Wildebeest Migration.

Enjoy game drives through the vast plains and look out for lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, gazelles, impalas, elands, and many more animals. You may also spot rare species such as black rhinos and serval cats.

Optional activities include walking safaris and hot air balloon rides over the Serengeti.

Day 4: Flight to Rubondo Island National Park

After breakfast, pack your bags and drive to the airstrip for your flight to Rubondo Island National Park, located on Lake Victoria to the west of Serengeti.

Upon arrival, a guide will meet you at the airstrip and transfer you to Rubondo Island Camp, a comfortable lodge surrounded by forest and lake views.

In the afternoon, take a boat ride on Lake Victoria to explore the island’s shores and nearby islets. Watch for crocodiles, hippos, otters, elephants, and bushbucks, along with many bird species such as African fish eagles, herons, ibises, kingfishers, and storks.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking in Rubondo Island National Park

After breakfast, set out on an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience through the forest. With the help of your guides and trackers, follow the calls of the chimpanzees deep into the jungle.

As you walk through the forest, enjoy the natural sounds of birds and the rustling of leaves. When you find the chimpanzees, spend some time watching their behavior and interactions before heading back to the camp for lunch.

Spend the afternoon relaxing or enjoying optional activities on the island.

Day 6: Mwanza City – End of Safari

On the final day of your safari, enjoy a leisurely morning on the island. You may take a short guided walk or simply relax at the lodge before your flight to Mwanza City.

Your 6-day Rubondo, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Safari ends upon arrival in Mwanza.
