Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Your driver will pick you up at 6:00 am from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe International Airport, depending on your schedule, to begin your 2 Days Murchison Falls Wildlife Safari.
Drive northwest through the green plains of Luweero and the conical hills of Nakasongola. You may buy fresh pineapples or bananas from local roadside vendors as a way of supporting the community.
The journey takes about four hours. You will enter the park through Kachumbanyobo Gate around noon and drive through Budongo Forest, where you may see olive baboons playing by the roadside.
Stop at Red Chili Rest Camp for an early lunch while waiting for the 2:00 pm boat trip. The boat cruise takes you upstream to the base of Murchison Falls, where the River Nile squeezes through a narrow seven-meter gorge, creating one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world.
After the boat trip, hike to the top of the falls using a well-maintained trail that brings you close to the roaring waters. Enjoy the refreshing spray and take photos of the rainbow that often forms in the mist.
Your driver-guide will meet you at the top and drive you through the woodland areas of the park to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Early Game Drive and Return to Kampala or Entebbe Airport
Have an early breakfast and set off for a morning game drive at 6:30 am to see the early risers and predators before they retreat. The morning hours are the best time to spot lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and many species of antelopes and birds.
After the game drive, return to the lodge, check out, and begin your journey back to Kampala. You will exit the park through either Tangi or Kachumbanyobo Gate, depending on your lodge’s location.
Arrive in Kampala or Entebbe in the early evening, refresh, and proceed to the airport for your departure flight.
