Detailed 10-Day Uganda Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Kampala City Tour
On arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will be welcomed by our company representative and transferred to your hotel in Kampala for refreshment and breakfast. Later, go for a city tour to explore some of Kampala’s main attractions.
Visit the African Craft Village, Uganda Museum, Bahai Temple, Buganda King’s Palace, and the Uganda Martyrs Shrine in Namugongo. Have lunch at one of the city’s top restaurants before returning to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, drive to Murchison Falls National Park, about 305 kilometers from Kampala. The journey takes around 5 hours and passes through Masindi town and Budongo Forest.
Stop at the top of Murchison Falls to watch the Nile River force itself through a narrow gorge before plunging down with great power. Continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise
After an early breakfast, go for a morning game drive in the northern part of the park to look for elephants, giraffes, lions, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and many other animals.
Return to your lodge for lunch and later enjoy a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the base of the falls. Watch hippos, crocodiles, and many birds along the riverbanks before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Drive from Murchison Falls to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, depart for Kibale Forest National Park. The journey takes a full day, passing through the Albertine Rift Valley and beautiful plantations. Stop for lunch along the way and continue to your lodge near the park for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, go for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park, one of the best places in Africa to see these primates. The park is also home to other primates such as monkeys and baboons. Spend one hour observing the chimpanzees before returning for lunch.
After lunch, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Crater Lake region and Fort Portal town. Arrive in the evening, check in, and have dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Game Drive and Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel
After an early breakfast, go for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains, a wildlife-rich area where you can spot lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, and Uganda kobs.
Return to the lodge for late breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel to see hippos, crocodiles, and many water birds. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Stop in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park to look for tree-climbing lions, then have lunch at Savannah Resort. Continue to Bwindi, arriving in the evening. Check in, have dinner, and rest.
Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your gorilla trekking adventure. The trek can take between 2 and 8 hours depending on the gorillas’ movement.
When you find the gorillas, spend one hour observing and taking photos before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and Boat Ride
After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park, arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon, go for a boat ride to see hippos, crocodiles, and birds around the lake. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Game Drive and Return to Kampala
After breakfast, go for a morning game drive to see impalas, elands, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, and other animals. Return for lunch and prepare to drive back to Kampala.
Stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for photos and a short experiment before continuing to Kampala or Entebbe. Arrive in the evening, marking the end of your 10-day Uganda safari.
